Brett oversees brand content and stories told across the entirety of the Asian Legacy Library’s communication channels.
A seasoned copywriter and creative director, Brett has worked with creative agencies and in-house teams in New York, Colorado, and California. He’s used his unique method of storytelling to develop messaging and content for well-known, innovative brands like LinkedIn, Airbnb, and Lyft. He also has significant experience in the start-up world, building both brands and products from scratch.
While completing his philosophy degree at Pomona College, Brett spent significant time in Nepal researching the architectural traditions of the Sherpa, Gurung, and Newar communities, and studying Nepali and Sherpa languages.
Brett is also a dedicated Ashtanga yoga practitioner—a tradition he’s spent years studying all over the world with teachers such as Sharath Jois, Eddie Stern, and his root teachers, Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor—and has started every day on the meditation cushion for over 20 years.
He lives in San Francisco with his wife, two young children, and an old dog named Arjuna.
